A compounding success story...

We want to share a success story with you! It is extremely rewarding to our staff to help our furry friends and we are so excited that Sophie is doing better after her chemo treatment! Please read the story below:
"Please take a moment and view my pup, Sophie (Border Collie Mix). She has been on chemo pills, compounded carefully by Irsfeld Pharmacy, for 8 months now for an aggressive sarcoma. The tumor was on her front left leg just above her elbow and was removed in June 2012. She is doing great thanks to Irsfeld Pharmacy and our amazing veterinarian, Dr. Lenz, at State Ave Vet here in Dickinson. Sophie will be 15 in June and still wants to play like a pup and walk at the park each day! Thanks again for making her special meds that keep her going, Linda and Ken"

Compounding - Cusomized MedicationsCompounding combines an ageless art with the latest medical knowledge and state-of-the-art technology.
We compound specialized medications to meet specific patient needs.
Specialized Dosage Forms Medications can be compounded into dosage forms that are most appropriate to treat each patient.
Lollipops Lollipops provide an effective means of holding medication in contact with the oral mucosa and are also an appealing dosage form for children. Suppositories Suppositories remain one of the most popular dosage forms. Unique designs such as the "rectal rocket" enable simultaneous internal and external medication administration. Troches Troches can be placed between the cheek and gum to dissolve. Medication can be absorbed through the mucosa, providing another alternative to oral administration. Flavored gelatin forms can be chewed and swallowed. |

If you use one of our compounded medications, your access to that medication is at risk!
We need you to take action today!
At Irsfeld Pharmacy, we strongly believe in our patient's rights to have access to personalized compounded medications. We safely helped thousands of patients with compounded medications to treat common conditions, such as pain and hormone imbalance, to rare diseases such as mitochondrial disease and chronic sinusitis. We also prepare compounds for veterinarians and animals.
Legislation has been proposed that could create an environment that would unduly restrict access to personalized compounded medications, even when they provide the best treatment options for patients, as determined by their physicians. You can make a difference if you act right now and oppose Senate bill S.959. Legislators need to hear from those who would be affected by any policy or law that doesn't reflect the importance of personalized medicine.
Proponents of bill S.959 are pushing for a vote the week of JULY 29th. We're asking all pharmacists, patients and practitioners to call their Congressional representatives TODAY and let them know that you oppose the bill. Here is suggested text for your conversation:
-I am a patient/pet owner located in Southwest North Dakota
-I have been using specialized compounds for X years
-I have a condition which is helped by compounding medications
-I am aware that Senate Bill 959 is about to be up for vote in the Senate
-I am extremely concerned that this bill will limit my access to needed medications
-I am asking (Senator) to oppose this bill
It's imperative that you ACT TODAY and help make sure the millions of people who rely on compounded medications each year can continue to do so.
